Burial Records

Important Notes:
  • In 2022, the Boonsboro Cemetery Association undertook a large project to move to electronic records in order to preserve historic burial records and modernize the cemetery to make it easy for visitors to find graves. Even though the largest phase of the project, the mapping, is complete, we still have a lot of work we’d like to do, including taking photos of the graves to associate with each record. This will be a volunteer effort and will take some time, so we thank you for your patience and look forward to good things ahead.
  • Old Salem Cemetery is the official name of the oldest portion of the  cemetery located off Park Drive in Boonsboro, behind Trinity Reformed UCC Church at 35 Potomac Street. This is where William Boone, founder of Boonsboro with brother George, is buried. Due to the age of the cemetery, incomplete burial records and the fact that over time stones have disintegrated or disappeared, it is impossible to know with 100% accuracy whether our records are correct.
  • Boonsboro Cemetery, the main portion of the cemetery, is located at the corner of Cemetery Lane and Reeders Alley, behind Trinity Evangelical Lutheran (64 S. Main Street, Boonsboro). The majority of this cemetery is  comprised of newer graves and the records are more accurate.  That being said, if you find a mistake, please let us know.
